Ha,d Pop| Os installed on Lenovo T460, smooth running for simple needs. However, being a tinkerer, I got the chance to buy a Toshiba Tecra X40-E a bit battered but seemed a cheap move into 4 core heaven (for now anyway). The shell had a dink/crack on the lid and seller reported that camera and mic was non functional. After purchase, I carefully prised away the bezel and found the camera board connector was dislodged. Well it was sitting right under the crack and the impact must have been harsh. When re-attached, the camera was now shown in bios setup. So, next step was to swap the T460s 500Gb drive for the Toshiba 256 Gb one. Then reconnect power. No issues, booted to Pop! Os as if native (almost). After a bit of playing around, YT vids mostly (14inch 1920x1080 LG panel is good) I remembered I had uploaded a hardware probe from T460s. Time to check this baby out. All hardware detected, only the Synaptic finger-print reader and Micro Inc smart-card reader reported as 'failed' with note to the effect that linux kernel up to 6.3 has no drivers for those devices. Do i care? Nope. I had thought there would be more issues swapping a drive with contents for Lenovo Thinkpad into Toshiba. But all works ok. Some optimisation might be done. Most surprising thing is, mine is the first Toshiba Tecra X40-E in the database.
