I wanted to start a thread on this HD Webcam when using it with Linux.  I've seen several posts on other sites where they mention that the camera works and the controls of the camera work, but the built-in microphone does not seem to work under Linux.  I'm not certain if the problem is related to the webcam firmware or if it something else.

I have attempted to test the webcam with Skype For Linux, the video does work, but the microphone does not.
I tried it with the Webcamoid software and tried various audio output formats, it didn't work either to output audio, only some static sound output.

What OS and kernel have you tried? Please submit a probe.

We have several reports in the database with this device working well: Ubuntu 21/22 with kernels 5.4, 5.11 and 5.13.

I wanted to provide an update.  It turned out to be a failing microphone.  The webcam worked in the beginning with microphone, then eventually the microphone failed, but the video output still worked. Yes, this webcam does work well under Linux.  The webcam was replaced with another same brand, GeneralPlus Technology Webcam 808, on the same system, RebornOS (Arch Linux, rolling 5.16 with Budgie DE) and the webcam works with the microphone no issues.

Results of the probe.
