Does Status - detected mean: it's able to be detected but NOT work?

From https://linux-hardware.org/?id=usb:1a86-7523, I can tell this USB device is able to be detected by Ubuntu, but detected is NOT works. So, can anybody help to clarify if this device works Okay under Ubuntu?
