I just got this wifi adaptor to use in my Intel NUC; my hw-probe is here.

I'm running Ubuntu 22.04.1, so I thought it would work out of the box, but it didn't.  Finally I got it to work with modprobe mt76x2u.  But now that it works, the speed I'm getting is awful.  Much worse than the wifi nic that is built in to the NUC.

That's weird, isn't it? I was expected it to be lots faster.  I haven't done this kind of stuff in a long time! Are there some magical settings I need to apply to this thing?  FWIW, here's what I get from iwconfig
